The original brief from Sunspeed was to manufacture lightweight, heavy duty transport cases for transporting IT servers.
After discussions with the client, it was decided that 9.5mm flightpanel would be used as the main material on the cases which would reduce weight by approx 20%.
The foam lining inside the cases would be a non conductive anti-static foam, due to the sensitive electronic equipment being transported.
The case should be manufactured in a 3 way split, so that if required the top lid could be hinged open for the final packaging blocks to be fitted as the servers differed slightly in sizes.
When the servers were delivered to site the whole top three quarters of the case would lift off allowing manual handling of the contents much easier.
From initial contact from our client to delivery of the first 15 cases was approximatley 10 days. Meeting his deadline perfectly.
